Description of the genome query for
List Best Matches
This query is analogous to performing an alignmentless BLASTP search on a "non-redundant database", consisting only of sequenced genomes. The normalized BLASTP score (ORF A vs. ORF B) / (ORF A vs. ORF A) is furthermore reported, indicating the relative strength of the match.
Important note: In order to conserve resources, only the best match to a given genome, and all subordinate matches that are at least 85% as strong, are reported. Matches below 85% of the best match within a given genome are not reported, except when the genome is "self", where all matches are reported.
You might use this query to identify an ORF's closest relatives.
